MEMBER AGREEMENT

Member Code of Conduct

The following code of conduct outlines the principles and behaviors that we expect from all

members and their guests. Remember, for many in the public, your behavior represents all

anglers.

Respect for others

1. Treat all members, officials, and the public with respect and courtesy.

2. Avoid behavior that may be considered harassment, bullying, or intimidation.

3. Do not discriminate against an individual for any reason, whether it be sex, race,

marital status, age, disability, occupation, religion or belief.

Safety and Responsibility

1. Always follow safety guidelines.

2. Read and familiarize yourself with the VBAC Bylaws.

3. Follow state and local regulations and obtain permission when required.

Environmental Awareness

1. Respect the environment and wildlife in and around our fishing spots by doing

minimal damage and/or disturbance to the habitat or ecosystem.

2. Avoid littering and remove old tackle. Leave it cleaner than you found it.

3. Report a wildlife violation to the DWR Wildlife Crime Line 800-237-5712.

Sportsmanship

1. Do not bring VBAC into disrepute either verbally or digitally and adhere to the

principles of fair play and good sportsmanship.

2. Report any rules infractions or cheating to the club immediately.

3. Respect the decisions of club officials and tournament organizers.

Membership Responsibilities

1. Attend club meetings and participate in club activities.

2. Pay dues and fees on time and treat club property and equipment with care and

respect.

3. Recognize and understand how to report any safeguarding concerns relating to

children, young people and adults at risk.

Officers & Board Members

1. Agree to always represent the best interests of the club and not represent any other

interest/matter that may be contrary to the best interests of VBAC and the sport of

angling.

2. Abide by all resolutions democratically agreed by the Board.

3. Outside of Board meetings the members will support any motion or decision

properly discussed and voted on in the meeting, even if they were not in agreement

with the decision. All members will be able to have a frank and meaningful

discussion during the meeting, but once the democratic decision has been made the

topic or motion cannot be raised again unless circumstances deem the decision was

not in the best interest of the club. This does not exclude the members discussing or

sharing their opinion or preference.

4. No member may publicize any matter in the name of the club unless that member

has been nominated the spokesman for the club. This should not prevent a member

from expressing their own views at private meetings, but they must make it totally

clear that these are personal views and will not necessarily be adopted by the Board.
